Nick Schofield
Nick Schofield is a community-oriented artist releasing ‘environmental music’ with Backward Music label. His latest release Glass Gallery (2021) was composed entirely on a vintage Prophet-600 synthesizer and was inspired by the light and space of Ottawa’s National Gallery. The album explores new age, ambient and environmental tendencies with a welcoming immediacy. In concert, Glass Gallery features the Prophet-600 fully illuminated with displays of sparkling arpeggios and lush harmonic waves presented as sonic analogs of the architecture and artwork that inspired the album. Audiences can anticipate minimalist aesthetics combining with a meditative mindset that celebrates sanctuaries of creativity that exist among and within us all.
